Bukhansan South Korea

Follow The Adventure! Our Trip to Bukhansan South Korea! A National Park Near  Seoul!

In this vlog video, Kyle and I take a trip to Bukhansan South Korea !  Kyle had been the Bukhansan once before with one of his co-works to do rock climbing. He decided it would be great to spend a full day there together doing the hiking trails to the summits at Bukhansan National Park.

We woke up pretty early that morning and headed out at around 10am. We had to commute to Bukhansan from Bundang which was just over an hours commute on public transit taking the subway and buses. We packed extremely lightly for our hike. It was so hot that day that we didn’t want to pack anything too heavy and over exert ourselves.

Here is roughly how we got to Bukhansan.

From Seohyeon Station, we hoped on the yellow line towards Wangsimin. We took the yellow all the way to the end *Wangsimin Station” There we got off and transfered onto the green line towards Dongdaemun History & Cultural Park station. We got off at Dongdaemun History & Cultural Park Station and transfered to the light blue line towards  Suyu Station. We got off at Suyu Station and got out at exit 4. Once we got out of the subway station we took a right out of exit 4 and walked down the street until we saw some bus stops in the middle of the road. At those bus stops we took bus number 130 towards Ui-Dong. You can also take #109 or #107. Then we took the bus until it pulled over into a parking lot. That is were you need to get off. From there you can take a shuttle bus up to the Bukhansan entrance, the buses are Light Beige and cost a donation to get on. We did not take the shuttle bus up. From the parking lot, walk up hill for 40 mins until you reach the Bukhansan entrance. Along the way, there are stores to buy food and beverage. I highly recommend you buy food and lots of water. Along your hike there is only 1 rest stop that sells food and water and it is more expensive then to buy at the beginning. Good luck!

At Bukhansan South Korea National Park, we saw some pretty amazing views! Even though at the end of it all I was very weak and in bad shape “Shaking legs, dehydration headache, dizzyness, nausea” I was still happy I did the hike. I wish we had brought much much more water. Kyle said no to buying some in the beginning so we didn’t. He was fine without it, but I was not at all! Make sure you are over prepared with water if you choose to do this hike in the summer 😛 I did not film anything after we made it to the top of the summit because I was in such bad shape that I didn’t think I would make it down the mountain. Once we made it down, we had to stop at a GS to buy myself a huge bottle of water, a Popsicle and Tylenol. We had taken the shuttle bus down from the entrance to the road but one the bus I started to feel extremely nauseas, I really didn’t think I would make it home without rehydrating!

I sound like such a weakling!

But honestly it was at least 30 degrees Celsius that day, very hot and humid. So only bringing 1 bottle of water was a huge mistake! I shouldn’t have listened to Kyle 😛
