COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Review

BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Claims

The COSRX BHA Power Liquid claims to provide the skin with the following benefits:

  • Exfoliates to prevent blackheads
  • Brightens and whitens the skin for a more even tone
  • Fights and prevents acne pimples
  • Creates soft and smooth skin

The BHA Power Liquid focuses on mainly contains BHA ingredient with minimal fillers added.

Ingredients include:

Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol, Betaine Salicylate, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Arginine, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol

As you can see, the ingredients list is quite small, focusing on only what is needed to maintain the product while providing the key ingredients.

Exfoliation info

Type: BHA
Active ingredient: Betaine salicylate (4%)
pH: 4.0

The Packaging

The BHA Blackhead Power Liquid comes in a thick plastic pump bottle. I must admit, the overall packaging is not the most visually appealing to the eye or the most lovely looking on your skincare vanity. However it is fairly durable.

The fact that the bottle is clear is excellent as you can see when you are getting low and know when to repurchase if you choose to.

My Results

Over the span of 4 weeks, I noticed my skin did some very mild purging. Meaning I developed a few small breakouts before my skin started to see results. My breakouts were very small since I had previously been using the OST C21.5 Serum. Which left my skin in a quite a good condition.

I didn’t see the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid provide me with any dramatic results of big improvements in my scars. But I did noticed I stopped developing my usual flat closed deep under the skin commodes. I also stopped developing as many blackheads on my inner cheeks in the T-zone area. I regularly have blackheads all over my nose, but when using the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, the return rate of my blackheads had drastically slowed down. Meaning I no longer have to extract my blackheads as frequently.

TIP!

Leave you BHA in the fridge. During the hot summer, and the lack of preservatives in this wonderful product, it can start to expire quickly. So store it in the fridge to maintain quality and best results!

Overall

I didn’t see as many results as I was expecting for acne scar and pigment clearing. But this product did deliver on preventing blackheads and fighting against future acne. I am not a huge fan of the texture, but the results were pleasant.

The before and after pictures look convincing to me. A pitty it did not deliver in point of acne scar treatment. A lot of people seem to love this product recently.

I think it was very overall skin perfecting for me. Just no fast results, only longer term ๐Ÿ™‚

I saw that you reviewed the blackhead one and the whitehead one, which one would you say is better? Also I have acne all over my face and I usually get whiteheads on my nose and pimples but I also do get blackheads on my nose, so which one do you think I should get the whitehead one or the blackhead one?

      Hi,

The blackhead power liquid contain BHA, bha is designed to penetrate deep into the skin, helping those who suffer from closed comedos and deep pimples. If you only suffer from whiteheads and some blackheads, then AHA will be best for you. AHA focuses mostly on the top layers of the skin, making it ideal for exfoliating away whiteheads and blackheads as well as flaky uneven skin.

I just started using this product less than a week ago & I’ve been using it every other day (which may be a bit much starting off but I’ve been using C21.5 for a couple of months now). Im new to using BHA so im not quite sure. Its already “purging” in the areas I’ve been using it in, t-zone & its done miracles on the blackheads on my nose. I was going to go full face but I wanted to see the results before I applied it full face considering that my U area is a bit more sensitive than my T zone. Would you consider it normal for it to work so fast? I don’t want to mistake something for purging when it’s just not compatible with my skin. Thank you so much!

      Hi,
Everyones skin reacts different. If you experiencing a lot of redness and itching with the purging, then it might mean your reacting negatively.

    Hi,

Is this suitable for normal skin with some blackhead on the t-zone? I also want to remove the acne scar on my face. Will this product match my skin?

I’ve been using this product for over a week now. Red little bumps started to come out all over my face. It’a like allergies. And all itchy. Should I continue using this? It says on the box that you may experience irritation at first.

This can be skin “purging” If this continues after 1 month of use, then it is not purging and might be a possible reaction. After 1 month, stop use.
