KLAIRS MIDNIGHT BLUE CALMING CREAM REVIEW | A Must Have Acne Treatment

KLAIRS MIDNIGHT BLUE CALMING CREAM REVIEW | A Must Have Acne Treatment
Hi loves!

Long time no review! Today I am sharing a much-awaited review on the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream which has officially launched at Wishtrend. This new cream is designed not as a deep moisturizing, hydrating or anti-aging cream, but instead as a repairing recovery cream. What is the difference? Recovery creams while providing hydration and moisture, focus mainly to repair damaged and irritated skin. Making them ideal for those who suffer from severe skin conditions such as acne, eczema, rosacea, hypersensitivity and more!

So today, I want to share with you all my experience with the new Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream and show you why it works amazing as an acne treatment cream.

*note: this review has been share with Wishtrend Glam Black*

Let’s just hope right into it!

KLAIRS MIDNIGHT BLUE CALMING CREAM REVIEW | A Must Have Acne Treatment

A Secret Acne Treatment!

Many sufferers of acne usually drift towards using harsh products that will dry out the skin, thus drying out acne. However, this type of treatment can lead to more damage than good. I for one have had nothing but bad experiences with this method of acne treatment.

Only until I was educated on skincare and the skin itself, did I learn that these methods that many of us were doing, were extremely harmful and damaging. Leading to worse skin conditions and a larger breeding ground for acne-causing bacteria.

Recovery Creams to Cure Acne

Now I am not a newbie to using recovery creams as acne treatments. In fact, I have used many recovery creams for my acne in the past such as Avene Riche Skin Recovery Cream, 23YearsOld Zincnol Cream and my all time favorite; La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Cream which I have introduced to my friends who have fallen in love with.

Recovery creams repair damaged skin and remove inflammation and help relieve the skin of irritation. Making them the most ideal for acne sufferers! Only thing, is most recovery cream, especially those I mentioned above can be very thick, heavy and even leave a white cast.

Which brings me to the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream.

What does it do for me?

The Midnight Blue Calming Cream claims to:

  • Relieve Skin Irritation
  • Rapidly Soothe Stressed Skin
  • Recovery from Sun Burns
  • Recovery from Skin Treatments (laser, dermabrasion, etc)
  • Soothe Irritation From Shaving
  • Soothe Irritation from Pore care (pimple popping)

For me, I used the cream every night for 4 weeks as a way to calm my constantly inflamed skin and reduce redness from dryness and sensitivity.

Sounds great! But how does it feel?

The Texture & Packaging

A new larger size!

The cream now comes in a larger sized plastic squeeze tube, which is the new packaging as of 2018. The previous design contained a small number of only 30mls, yet this new design now holds double the amount at 60mls! Even though only a small amount of the acne treatment cream is required, the new larger size overall is more convenient, especially for those ordering their skincare from overseas.

The Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream surprisingly glides very smoothly over the skin, making it easy for a little to go a long way. Upon application, there is an instant cooling effect on the skin that feels as if you got misted with cool water. My skin immediately felt fully hydrated and very moist after massaging the cream onto the skin.

Like most recovery creams, this cream could “clump” when makeup is applied overtop.

If you plan to wear it during the day, a small thin layer is recommended. I recommend this cream is most suitable for night time use before your night cream.

The Results & Benefits

One major thing I noticed is that the cream does not provide deep moisture and more so only hydration. Making it ideal for all skin types. However, if you are looking for a “cream” to provide moisture, then this is not going to give it to you. Based on my experience as someone with dry acne prone skin, this recovery acne treatment cream should be used after serum and before your daytime cream or night cream. However, if you have oily skin, this cream will be plenty enough for you.

I noticed the next morning after using it at night that my skin was very calm with no breakouts.
Redness was significantly reduced and there were no signs of irritated.

So what makes it a good acne treatment? In only 4 weeks it drastically aided in healing my acne breakouts and preventing dark scarring! As someone who also sufferers from PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), I generally scar whenever a pimple emerges.

While using the cream, scaring was dramatically reduced and prevented! And another major bonus was that it didn’t break me out!

How does it work?!

It’s all in this blue cream’s revolutionary ingredients! The cream features Guaiazulene, which is the key ingredient that is a plant-based component extracted from chamomile oil. This oil has a natural violet-blue color. Plus, it’s commonly seen in Japanese skincare!

In Japanese clinical trials, it improved 89.7% of sunburns, 60.6% of eczema, and 86.5% of ulcerative skin diseases.

Not only that, but it also contains Centella Asiatica Extract, which is a plant native to Madagascar. Known as “tiger grass”, It’s often used in cosmetics as “Centella Asiatica” for regeneration in damaged skin and prevents scarring; making it suitable as an acne treatment.

Centella extract which has proven to heal and repair the skin and is popular in Korean products for acne recovery. Argan Oil and Shea butter for deep moisture into the skin, Ceramide 3 which is like the glue for skin cells making it the best for skin repair and anti-aging! And note the presence of Peptides which have been proven amazing for intensive skin repair and dramatic anti-aging benefits.

Do I recommend it?

YES! All because it worked well for me! But if your someone who sufferers from any type of skin irritation or you’re a sufferer from acne, this really is a great add-on to your acne treatment skincare routine. I personally also found this cream to be an affordable alternative to the luxury brand TATCHA’s Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream which was recognized by the US National Eczema Association as an effective treatment (which retails at a shocking $135 USD).

      Hi,
personally, I like the use this cream like a treatment layer, so I use it before my night cream. You can use it over top, but i personally feel it is more effective before night cream.
      And thank you! xoxo

Hi, just wondering, what do you think about its ability to fade acne scars? Are there any products that you suggest for fading acne scars? Thank you

I have read that “MORUS ALBA ROOT EXTRACT” is like BHA is this right? Do I need sunscreen with this cream in the morning?
