NEUTROGENA NATURALS Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover REVIEW

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will already know I had a horrible experience with this cleanser.. In fact the worst experience so far in my life.

I bought the Neutrogena fresh cleanser because it was recommended to me by a friend who swore by the line. Since I have super sensitive skin I was under the impression that something that is natural and has no harsh chemicals should be absolutely perfect for someone like me! Especially since I am such a big skin care nerd.
I read the bottle and it claimed she be gentle on the skin and completely remove makeup which seemed even more perfect. So I bought it and went home to try it out.
My first impression was interesting. Since it was a cream, gentle cleaners I was expecting it to not lather up to well! But it lathered up instantly! It probably was one of the soapiest feeling cleansers I owned.
It took a lot of rinsing to feel as it I got as much cleanser as possible off.
It left my skin feeling very dried out and tight. So I used my toner and moisturized as usual.
The next morning I noticed I had a few very tiny white heads but I assumed this was just my skin purging as it normal does when switching cleansers.
I continued with the cleanser morning and night.
By day 4 my skin was a wreck. I had acne all over my face and even on my eye lids and in my eye brows. It was disgusting! I have never had an infestation like this, it was like a rash!
I immediately stopped using it and I ran to the drug store to repurchase my old cleanser and buy some calming and soothing face masks.
It has now been over 1 week and my skin is still recovering.
This is the condition of my skin to this day. Day 4 of not touching the cleanser. If you think this is bad…. you should have seen what it was like 4 days ago… But that was too ugly to show. Even this is gross. I am sorry if I grossed you out. But I never have acne and if I do it is not even close to this bad. Far from it.
This is what this “gentle” cleanser did to my skin. So clearly, it is extremely irritating to people with sensitive skin or I am hugely allergic to an ingredient. But I took allergy meds all week and it didn’t seem to help much.
Here is the ingredients in this cleanser:
  • Water
  • Cocamidopropyl – concern
  • Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate – concern
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine – concern
  • Glycerin
  • Hydrolyzed Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum – concern
  • Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum – concern
  • Coco-Glucoside
  • Glyceryl Oleate
  • Glycol Distearate
  • Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride
  • Caprylyl Glycol
  • Sodium Chloride
  • Citric Acid
  • Sodium Hydroxide
  • Acrylates Copolymer
  • Potassium Sorbate
  • Benzyl Alcohol
  • Perfume

The products that have – concern next to them are the products that are foreign to any previous products I have used. These are products I must have had the allergic reaction to. All these ingredients are derived from coconut and Peruvian Tara seed. Since they are natural I wouldn’t have assumed they would irritate me. But I guess I was wrong.
I know this acne is allergy related because it was very very itchy and not dry. Rash cream also helped to calm the acne that did not fully emerge.
If you have super sensitive skin like me, I would not at all recommend this product to you or any face washed from this line. I will never try another Neutrogena Naturals product again.
It has almost been 2 weeks and my skin is still horrible but finally healing.
Don’t be a victim like me ๐Ÿ˜› Use girls with sensitive skin can’t deal with this stuff!  My skin was finally looking so perfect and lovely and then this product had to mess it all up! ๐Ÿ™
This skin disaster is also why I have not uploaded my weekly video yet. I am sorry guys but seriously. I don’t want to have to wear makeup and risk irritating my already super irritated skin! Plus my line up of videos are all makeup reviews and tutorials which require non irritated skin ๐Ÿ™
Sorry but once my skin is happy I will upload a BUNCH of new videos!
Oh ya… this product also claims to be hypoallergenic…. ya clearly not for me ๐Ÿ˜› Worst allergic reaction ever.
