TATCHA REVIEW | Sensitive Skin Ritual Japanese Skincare

Hi Loves!

Today I will be sharing my experience and opinion on a popular high end Japanese Skincare brand known as Tatcha.

I was sent these items from Tatcha for the purpose of review, however I was only given the sample sizes so I will not be able to share any long term results of this line, only short term.

What is TATCHA?

Tatcha is a luxury & high end skincare brand that is inspired by Japanese Geisha beauty rituals. Involving the craftsmanship and heritage straight from Kyoto Japan. It is designed to be gentle and effective on the skin. Dermatologist tested, irritant free and non-sensitizing. Making it the ideal anti-aging brand for those who are looking for a new cultural twist on skincare.

Ritual For Sensitive Skin

TATCHA REVIEW | Sensitive Skin Ritual Japanese Skincare

I received the Ritual Discover Trail Kit for Sensitive skin due to the fact that my skin is sensitive and acne prone. This line contains no harsh chemicals that may trigger any irritation in the skin while still providing anti-aging benefits.

This line contains:

Four simple products to help you complete the perfect Japanese Skincare routine at home with little hassle.

The Reviews

PURE One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil Review

I was very excited to try this cleansing oil since I am a huge cleansing oil enthusiast. This cleansing oil is designed to be gentle on the skin while still lifting and dissolving away makeup dirt and excess sebum. It focuses on using minimal and natural ingredients to suit all skin types while still providing rich hydrating benefits for the skin.

Ingredients
Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Polyglyceryl-10 Dioleate, Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquicaprylate,Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Glyceryl Behenate/eicosadioate, Water, Algae Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Alcohol, Fragrance (Natural), Phenoxyethanol.
Formulated without:
Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Parabens, PEGs, PPGs, Urea, DEA, TEA or Phthalates.

Upon my first use with the cleansing oil, I immediately noticed how rich it was. Most other cleansing oils I have tried have been more towards the watery side, however the TATCHA cleansing oil was very rich and moisturizing to use. Compared to others, this cleansing oil required at least 2 pumped into the palm of my hand to provide enough to cover my entire face to effectively remove my base makeup. However sometimes 3 pumps was required.

After massaging into the skin, the TATCHA cleansing oil was very easy to wash away from the skin. It easily transformed into a milky texture and washed makeup away with easy while leaving the skin feeling nice and hydrated.

Overall, I very much loved and enjoyed this cleansing oil and was a little upset I only got a small travel size! It was an absolute pleasure to use and left my skin feeling fresh, smooth and hydrated.

INDIGO Soothing Rice Enzyme Powder (cleansing powder)

The Enzyme Powder Cleanser was another item I was very excited to try as I love the concept of power to liquid cleansing. Not only the concept but the benefits are also ones that leave the skin feeling it’s best and overtime, looking its best. A 2 in 1 cleanser for skin without makeup on.

The TATCH powder cleanser is made for sensitive skin types and is made with colloidal oatmeal to help soothe skin that is easily irritated. Containing natural ingredients to help promote healthier glowing skin from within using ingredients such as Rice powder, Japanese Indigo Leaf Extract, Green Tea leaf extract and even Pearl Protein.

Ingredients
Oryza Sativa (Rice) Powder, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Potassium Myristate, Polygonum Tinctorium (Japanese Indigo) Leaf/Stem Extract, Indigofera Tinctoria Leaf Extract, Colloidal Oatmeal, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Conchiolin (Pearl) Protein, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran, Algae Extract, Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Calcium Carbonate, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Mica, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

I used this powder cleanser after using the cleansing oil, as I personally prefer to second cleanse whenever an oil cleanser is involved, making sure my pores are completely clear of any residue that may cause closed comedoes. I poured a nickle size amount into the palm of my wet hand, rubbed my hands together to create a smooth cream texture, then massaged it into my face that was still wet from rinsing the oil cleanser. It created a lovely milky texture on my skin that felt wonderful.

After massaging for a minute, I rinsed away with luck warm water and my skin was left felling baby smooth and still full of hydration. Even after drying my face, it still remained to feel hydrated which was wonderful.

Overall, I loved the TATCH INDIGO Soothing Rice Enzyme Powder! In combination with the cleansing oil and on its own, the cleansing powder left my skin feeling baby soft without fail. It providing a soft gentle cleansing experience that made my skin happy to the touch.

LUMINOUS Deep Hydration Firming Serum

I am a huge serum fan, sometimes I even apply more then one serum to my skin, sometimes 3… I do this because serums work very well for me as they are highly concentrated of beneficial ingredients without the use of thick pore clogging ingredients. The TATCH LUMINOUS Deep Hydration Firming Serum delivers Okinawa Red Algae and Hyaluronic Acid to nourish and hydrate skin. While 23-K gold creates that healthy glow we all are searching for without adding highlighters or shimmers. Even 86% of women claimed to have felt firming skin within 1 week.

Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Alcohol, Methyl Gluceth-20, Polyglyceryl-10 Eicosanedioate/Tetradecanedioate, Carrageenan (Algae Extract), Fragrance (All Natural), Inositol (Rice Extract), Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sericin (Silk Extract), Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate (Licorice Extract), Silica, Hydrogenated Lecithin (Soy Origin), Squalane (Olive Origin), Sodium Dilauramidoglutamide Lysine, Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea) Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Algae Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Gold, Sodium Bicarbonate, Xanthan Gum Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Butelyne Glycol, HDI/Trimethylol, Hexyllactone Crosspolymere, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite.
FORMULATED WITHOUT
Parabens, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, urea, DEA, TEA or phthalates.

I was also very excited to try this serum as I find I am always looking for a serum that will have firming effects to help with anti-aging. The serum has a very distinct gel like texture when dispensed from the bottle. It glides smoothly over the skin so a little really goes a long way. However for me, I could not apply this serum close to the eyes or sometimes in the corners of my nose as it would burn. Although, the rest of my face was okay with the serum. I even with the slight burning sensation in those delicate areas, the serum did not cause any irritation, hives or acne breakouts which was wonderful! It did deliver to leave my skin feeling more firm and bouncy and full of hydration. The only down side was the burning sensation around the eye area and nose corners.

Overall, I enjoyed this serum for the firmness and hydration, however the burning did make me not reach for it every night. Possibly not suitable for all sensitive skin types. But would be good for normal skin types.

INDIGO Soothing Triple Recovery Cream

Because my skin can at times become very dry without warning, I was very much so looking forward to this recovery cream. It contains colloidal oatmeal and sophora Japonica extracts to calm and restore the skin. It has even been excepted into the national eczema association.

Ingredients
Active Ingredient: Colloidal Oatmeal 3%
Inactive Ingredients:
Water, Squalane (Olive origin), Glycerin, Propanediol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Diisostearyl Malate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Xylitol, Behenyl Alcohol, Polygonum Tinctorium (Japanese Indigo) Leaf/stem Extract, Indigofera Tinctoria Leaf Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat Kernel) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sophora Japonica Flower Extract, Prunus Lannesiana Flower Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Germ Oil, Inositol (Rice Extract), Sericin (Silk Extract), Tetrasodium Tetracarboxymethyl Naringeninchalcone, Chondrus Crispus (Red Algae) Extract, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dextrin, Sorbitan Tristearate, Trihydroxystearin, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Beheneth‐20, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Dilauramidoglutamide Lysine, Disodium Edta, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Sodium Acrylate/acryloyldimethyltaurate/dimethylacrylamide Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Calcium Carbonate, Tin Oxide, Phenoxyethanol, Mica.
Formulated without:
Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Parabens, PEGs, PPGs, Urea, DEA, TEA or Phthalates.

Upon application, the TATCH INDIGO Soothing Triple Recovery Cream glides on like a dream! It is smooth like whipped butter and instantly provides a mild cooling effect and rich hydration to the skin. Because it is so rich, a little goes a long way making this cream one that will last you a long time. In just one night of use, my dry skin areas were instantly soothed and recovered as if they were never dry to begin with. This certainly is a very rich and excellent cream to use during the night. However because this cream is so rich, it is one that would start to break me out if I used it every night. These breakouts were not caused from irritation as this cream did not cause any sort or sensitivity or irritation. It was just too rich for my skin a times.

TATCHA REVIEW | Sensitive Skin Ritual Japanese Skincare

Overall, this cream is suitable for those with very dry and sensitive aging skin. For those with dry/combination skin, this cream could be too rich at times. However it works amazingly as a night cream and will instantly cure your dry skin in just 1 night.

BRAND OVERALL

I personally really enjoyed the trial kit for the Sensitive Skin Ritual. My only wish was that I could have received the full size items so I would have been able to rate these items based on their long-term effects on the skin. I personally found the sensitive skin line was great, however the serum might not actually be suitable for all skin types or those who have areas that are excessivly dry as it can cause a slightly burning sensation upon application. The cream can also cause small breakouts due to over moisturizing for those with normal-dry skin types. Making it most appropriate for those with very dry and atopi skin.
