My Holland Lop Pebbles

H E L L O  L O V E Y’ S, I wanted to share with you today my super cute lovable bunny Pebbles!!!
He is a Holland Lop rabbit with a tortoise fur coat….. I think ๐Ÿ˜› He is about 5 or 6 months old now and is the best thing ever! Holland lops are interesting pets to have. I find their personality to be quite interesting, entertaining and dramatic at time.

He can goes from being calm and cool to instantly ecstatic and frantic! Almost like a baby! There seems to be no common ground in between the two. Lops are quite the curious rabbits. Anything you do will automatically interest them and they will have to come over to check out what it is that you are doing…. almost like a dog! But they aren’t as smart as a dig but they are the smartest breed of rabbit from what I know ๐Ÿ™‚

His favorite foods are yummy smelling rabbit feed, hay, grass, celery, carrots, spinach, apples, oats, cornflakes, cheerios and another high fiber plain cereal! ( don’t worry, it is okay to treat them to some plain cereals such as corn flakes, cheerios and shredded wheat. ) If you are gonna feed your rabbit human food makes sure it is clean or organic, and healthy with no sugars or salts or anything like that on them.

It was hard at first when I got him to make him trust me and other people. He was quite timid and shy as well as a little frightened by me. It only took around a month for him to become curious of me and understand that I’m good and give him treats and give him pets and cuddles. He slowly grew to love me. Now every time I walk into his area he will immediately run over to me to check me out, sniff my pants, lick my hands and such! (^=^) soooo adorable!!!!

he especially loves when I pet him and help groom him when he is shedding. Shedding isn’t much of a problem with lops, their fur is fine and super light and fluffy ๐Ÿ™‚ When they go through a shed, it usually will collect in clumps in their cage or up against walls or in corners, very easy to clean!

For anyone that ever told me not to get a rabbit because they smell was silly to say so! He smells lovely! I love to rub my face in his face fur when I go to give him cuddles! He almost smells fresh and floraly in my opinion! Maybe it is because I rub my face in him so much heheheheh :3

I tried very hard a first to potty train him because I want him to more or less be a free bunny in my house, to not be confined to a cage. It was hard since I was at school every day but as he got older and developed his clean habits more, he started to pee in on particular corner of his cage. I’d move his litter box to that area and gradually he would start to pee in the litter box.

I then gave him a limited space outside of his cage then when I’d catch him about to pee on the floor id pick him up really quick and put him in his litter box. Sometimes he would try to jump out so I’d grab him and put him back in. He would then stare at me a bit then he got the idea that I want him to pee there. he would start peeing and I would cheer and give him a treat! After doing that with him when I could, he gradually start to go in his litter box all on his own! Now no matter where I bring him, as long as I have a rectangular dish similar to his litter box, he will jump in it to pee and then jump out when he is done!! ๐Ÿ˜€

He mostly now poops in the little box as well! But he doesn’t always make it but the majority of his poops are in the litter box. I don’t mind too much though because his poops basically are dry balls of pure hay and fiber so they are super easy to clean! I just sweep them up and into his litter! ๐Ÿ˜€ So convenient! His pee does smell so I have to change his litter box every 2-3 days which isn’t bad! over the time I have owned him so far I tend to not buy litter or wood shavings for his litter because I’m a poor student and can’t afford that! So being the smart creative girl I am ๐Ÿ˜‰ I rip up our news papers and use those!!!! perfect! Free litter for my bunny! muwahahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The only issue I have with him is that if he roams far from his litter, he doesn’t see it and doesn’t know where to pee so he will pee where ever he is at the time ๐Ÿ™ So I have to limit him to a single room so he can always make it to his little when he has to pee! He also loves to find and chew any cords he can find! he also chewed up my purse a bit once! He seems to be the master of escape when I put him away for the night! Sometimes I can’t even figure out how he managed to get out wtf!!! ๐Ÿ˜› Silly rabbit! It is amusing though!

One time I left him at my school home when I went home for a couple days and when I came back he some how managed to escape and have the whole house to himself! In the day and a half I was gone he learned how to run up and down stairs wtf!!! >.< He is always up to so many shenanigans! He once chewed my macbook cord and I had to buy a new one which cost me 150 bucks……. >.< uhg I was so angry that day! But he is so cute that I can never truly be mad at him hahaha.

He loves to sit on top of his cage and his travel cage…. So strange because usually they enjoy being under things but he mostly prefers being on top of things lmao!

I love him so much though! He is such the character! I will obviously suggest that everyone gets a holland lop if you are looking to have a rabbit! They are the best! ๐Ÿ˜€ Here a have a little video of him nomming on some grass in my backyard! Enjoy the cuteness! (^ o ^)’
