PUMPKIN PIE RECIPE

To all you fellow Canadians out there who have also just ended your lovely Thanksgiving long weekend ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you all eat plenty of home made delicious foods to celebrate the fall season.
Today I am sharing my second cooking blog! And I am sharing my absolute favourite dessert recipe which is obviously PUMPKIN PIE!

This post also has a video tutorial on how to make the pie step by step to help guide you through the process. But don’t fret! Pumpkin pie is an extremely easy recipe ๐Ÿ™‚
Here is the video tutorial
How was that?! Easy right! ๐Ÿ˜€

List of ingredients
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin (plain) canned or fresh
  • 1 pie shell (store bought or homemade)
Cooking Directions

Start off by mixing all the dry ingredients together. Combine salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and both sugars. Mix dry ingredients well. Whisk the 2 eggs until well beaten then add your dry ingredients and whisk until the mixture is smooth. Combine evaporated milk and vanilla separately and mix together. Combine pumpkin with the egg mixture and stir until everything is well incorporated. Add the evaporated milk mixture and combine everything until smooth. Take your pie shell (if store bought make sure it is thawed out) and add your mixture into the shell. Preheat your oven to 400โ„‰, cook the pie for 15 mins at 400โ„‰. After 15 mins, turn the temperature down to 350โ„‰ and let cook for 40-60 minutes. Start off by cooking the pie for 40 minutes. Check the pie to see if the centre is still giggly. If the centre still giggles, the pie isn’t done yet. Cook the pie for another 10 or 20 minutes until the centre hardly moves. For me, it took 60 minutes at 350โ„‰ for the pie to be fully cooked. Everyones oven is different so keep a close eye on your pie after 40 minutes. Now your pie is done! Take the pie out of the oven and let it cool off. Your pie is ready to serve once it has cooled off! I like my pumpkin pie cold so after it cooled I placed it in the fridge to chill. Serve on its own or with a topping of whipped cream and enjoy!
That is my pumpkin pie recipe! It is very close to a traditional pumpkin pie but just has a few tweeks to my liking ๐Ÿ™‚ I personally don’t like using cloves or all spice in my pumpkin pies. I just don’t like the flavours so I only use nutmeg ๐Ÿ™‚ This recipe creates a very nice fluffy textured pie! If you like your pumpkin pies more dense then I recommend only using 1 cup of evaporated milk rather then 1 1/2. But give it a shot and see if you like it! ๐Ÿ˜€ If you make my pie then be sure to tag me an Instagram photo @biibiibeauty of your finished pie and let me know how you liked it! ๐Ÿ˜€
Good luck and enjoy!
